Every child deserves a safe place to call home.

Who we are

Restoring hope, one life at a time

Children seated together learning in a classroom setting

Nana Ville Foundation is a non-governmental organisation dedicated to empowering street-connected children across Uganda. We believe every child — regardless of background — deserves safety, education, and belonging.

Founded in 2025, we work directly with children in Kampala and surrounding districts, offering not just relief — but lasting restoration through holistic, community-driven programs.

  • 01

    Dignity first

Every child is treated with unconditional respect and love.

  • 02

    Community

We work with families and communities, not around them.

  • 03

    Education

Learning is the cornerstone of every child's future.

  • 04

    Restoration

We focus on long-term healing, not short-term fixes.

The challenge

Understanding the crisis

Uganda has one of the youngest populations in the world — yet thousands of children remain on the streets, invisible to systems designed to protect them.

10,000+

Street-connected children

An estimated 10,000+ children live or work on the streets of Kampala alone, facing exploitation, violence, and deprivation every day.

62%

Lack formal education

Over 6 in 10 street-connected children have never attended school or have dropped out, cutting off any clear path out of poverty.

3 in 5

Without safe shelter

Most street-connected children sleep in dangerous conditions — markets, roadsides, and abandoned buildings — with no adult protection.

What we do

Six programs, one path

Our work is holistic — meeting children where they are and walking with them toward a brighter, safer future.

Stories of change

“When I came to Nana Ville Foundation, I had nothing — no shoes, no books, no family nearby. Today I am in Senior Two and I want to become a nurse. They gave me more than a place to sleep; they gave me a future.”
A Aisha, 14Program beneficiary — Kampala
“As a community volunteer, I see this work up close. They don't just hand out food — they sit with the children, listen to them, and treat them as human beings. That makes all the difference.”
James Opio — Community volunteer, Kawempe
“My son was on the streets for two years and I had lost hope. Nana Ville Foundation found him, cared for him, and brought him home. He now learns tailoring and helps me in the market. I thank God for this work.”
Mary Nalubega — Parent, Wakiso District
